you never met me you held me you told me right from wrong you gave me a path deserted by everyone else overrun with weeds but it was mine but it was yours but it was everyone else's too as time moves along without me my pride tries turning to yours but it doesn’t it limps along painted with a smile as the paint bleeds every step hurts and the cracks grow leaving me hollow because of the forced pieces going where they don’t belong because it’s not my pride it’s yours my pride makes me loud and others try to sush me
I shouldn’t be seen but I continue anyway my pride leaves me with my head up I could look in the mirror,
with my pride my pride left me with me your pride leaves me with my head bent my neck aching my back in the form of a question mark your pride leaves me with a weight deep in my chest that is unexplainable your pride chains me to something something unspoken something present your pride leaves me motionless at the bottom of a pool your pride leaves me sobbing, looking at the water your pride leaves me with you I know what comes next but I can’t take anymore steps but I can’t jump into that pool no matter how hard I’ve tried and if I told you all of this if I left myself raw and vulnerable and my soul completely open for you to go through would you? or would you leave me here alone with the mess I’ve made or would you tell me to go pick up those pieces and leave because your pride didn’t fit
